I drew a  teenaged Ras Tila doing his homework, to avoid doing my own homework! Huzzah!

For those who aren't familiar with Ras' backstory, he was diagnosed as a very small child with a disease called Kash's Mark. It always manifests in early childhood, and always kills its victim by age seventeen or so. 
Not content to just leave his fate into the hands of his doctors, who disdain him for his 'inferior' race and his precocious, cynical personality, Ras sets about studying virology at the Healing House. His goal is to cure the disease before it kills him and the other children he's befriended in the Healing House who suffer the same illness.

For those completely new to this all, Ras is a vorambi, the only intelligent species to occupy the planet Otska. They're the POV species in a series of books and short stories about their war with humanity.

Also, I need to post a reference with an explanation of their biology, but they're pretty much mammals, not reptiles. Just had three people ask, so I thought I'd throw that out there. ^_^
